HIGH TEMPERATURE PROBES

What does high temperature mean to you? On this page, we have divided our products into four different temperature ranges that you might consider “high” depending on your industry and application.

CLICK ON THE RANGE YOU ARE LOOKING FOR

MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES

260 - 500 C°

For this temperature range, you can use either a resistance temperature detector (RTD) like a Pt100 and Pt1000 or a thermocouple. RTD are generally more precise than thermocouples, but thermocouples can be built in smaller diameters.

With regards to the insulation material, the best choice is a mineral insulated cable probe. Fiberglass insulation is also suited for this temperature range, but please note that it is not suitable if waterproofing is a priority.

MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES

500 - 750 C°

For this temperature range, we recommend the use of a mineral insulated thermocouple probe. Type J can withstand up to 600 °C and type K up to 1,150 °C. Our thermocouples with overmoulded connectors have a compensated connector. Those with an overmoulded cable transition have a compensated cable.

MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES

750 - 1100 C°

In this temperature range, you will want to use a mineral insulated K-type thermocouple with inconel sheath. The minimum diameter of a probe suitable for these temperatures is 4.5 mm. Our thermocouples with overmoulded connectors have a compensated connector. Those with an overmoulded cable transition have a compensated cable.
